Minimum 17 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency
Pass Wonderlic, Ability to Benefit test with a cut score of 14
The qualifications that you need to be a successful student, and later
a successful groomer are:
Have a true affection for dogs and want to work with them every day.
Be willing and able to work a long and physically demanding day.
Have patience, enabling you to cope with a wide variety of canine dispositions
without losing your temper.
Be able to accept criticism, to learn from criticism and to evaluate
your own work in order to keep your standards high.
Be able to interact with clients who are dealing with a cherished pet.
RE-ENTRANCE
Re-entrance to the school for any reason will be at the discretion
of the Director, and subject to course requirements.
CLASS SIZE AND FACILITIES
The school has the capacity to teach ten students and any one time.
The average teacher to student ratio is 6 to 1.
The school is complete with lounge area and kitchen
for those students wishing to bring their lunch. Students will work
with the most up-to-date equipment and supplies available to us. This
includes hydraulic tables and stand dryers as well as high velocity
dryers. The school has three bathing areas, a drying area, customer
entrance with pet supplies, office and grooming area. It is clean, modern
and well kept.
HOUSING
The school is in close proximity (5 to 10 minutes) to
various hotels and motels. We also often have information of someone
who will rent a room to students.
